Overview:

Works closely with the crew, inspects crew work, discipline, supervises navigation bridge when captain is not on duty or unavailable. Reports directly to the Captain.

Extensive experience with minimum three to five years in subordinate positions on board ships. Solid experience in all navigational electronic and computerized equipment. Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility.

$3,750-4,200 per month.

Overview:

Maintains radio communications between ship and shore, skilled electronics and telegraph repairs
and operations of satellite hook-ups, faxes, Marisat communications, etc. Reports directly to the
Captain

Licensed and certified. Extensive experience with minimum one to two years in subordinate positions
on board ships. Solid experience in all navigational electronic and computerized equipment.
Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility.

Salary Range

$1,800-2,400 per month.

Overview:

Responsible for passenger and crew fire drills, abandon ship procedures, crew fire safety training,
supervision of ships tenders. Reports directly to the Captain.

Extensive experience with minimum one to two years in subordinate positions on board ships.
Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility. Background in security or military
preferable.

Salary Range

$2,000-2,600 per month.

Overview:

Position on Kastaway Island's deep sea fishing vessel.

Responsible for all fishing charters. Responsible to customer for baiting and assisting when necessary
to haul in the catch. Position is responsible for all cleaning of the catch and packaging fish for the
galley. Reports directly to the Fish Master.

Requirements:

All applicable certifications by a recognized maritime government body, USCG registered. Extensive
experience with minimum three to five years in subordinate positions on deep sea fishing vessels.

Solid experience in all navigational, electronic, gps and computerized equipment. Graduate of

Responsible for the entire technical operations of the vessel including engineering, electrical, and
mechanical divisions. All other positions in this department report directly to the chief engineer.

eight years in subordinate positions on board ships. Graduate of accredited maritime training school
or facility with several years experience in the engineering aspect of maritime shipping.

Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility with several years experience in
engineering or related position.

Salary Range

$1,200-1,700 per month.

The cruise staff department is responsible for running the day-to-day passenger activities, entertainment, shows, games, lectures, fitness, etc. If you work within the cruise staff, you must possess strong social skills. If so Kastaway Island is looking for you. 99.9% of your job is socializing with passengers. Always wear a smile, be courteous and ready to help out at a moments notice.

Overview:

The cruise director is "Commander-in-Chief" of all on-board entertainment, creates, coordinates, and implements the daily program, acting master of ceremonies at social activities and evening shows, port talks and lectures. Acts as a liaison between passengers, officers, and crew. Reports directly to the hotel manager. Prior to arrival in each
port, a lecture is to be given by the port lecturer outlining a brief history of the city or country, followed by an explanation of the city's sights, characteristics, how to get around, warnings, etc. The lecturer must also develop a current port information sheet for port-of-call wherever no port information exist. The information in the port
information sheets should be consistent with the lecture material. When necessary, he is to coordinate this information with the shore excursion manager and local port tour agents. Serve as a source of all port
information and general inquiries for passengers. Assist at shore excursion talks and/or slide presentation as directed by shore excursion manager. Assist shore excursion department in loading and unloading tour transportation and escort tours as directed by the shore excursion manager. Effective communications with shore excursion department.
Participates in activities and other various duties as directed by the cruise director. Highly visible and accessible to passengers (socialize!) Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed. Reports directly to the shore excursion manager or
Cruise Director.

Requirements:

Professional entertainment background with a 15-40 minute variety show (singing, magic show, et.)
preferred or 2-5 years on board working your way up from an entry-level cruise staff position. Public speaking, delegate responsibilities and possess strong organizational abilities. Strong personality and extraordinary diplomatic skills essential. Manage cruise staff and work well with shipboard officers, crew, shore side office management, and 
local port officials

Overview:

The assistant cruise director is "the right-hand person" for the cruise director. He/she manages and
directs the day-to-day operation of activities and makes sure that passengers get involved.

Coordinates the cruise staff personnel activity schedules, insure that all materials and personnel are in
place before and during the cruise, supervise and act as master of ceremonies at specific passenger activities as directed by the cruise director, and assists in creating daily program. Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed. Reports directly to the Cruise Director.

Requirements:

Entertainment, recreation, hotel or resort experience preferred or 1-2 years on board working your
way up from an entry-level cruise staff position. Public speaking. Strong personality and social skills
required. Manage day-to-day cruise staff personnel, representative liaison for the cruise director
between the cruise staff and other department heads. Knowledge of foreign languages is preferred
but not essential.

$1,600-2,500 per month.

Overview:

The shore excursion manager or tour manager is primarily responsible for the presentation, promotion, supervision and arrangement of the shore excursions offered in the various port-of-call by the company. Usually acts independently of other departments on the ship because it coordinates with people off of the ship. Presents shore excursion talks and/or slide presentation. Updating of all shore excursion forms. Effective communications with port officials. Written and financial reports weekly presented to the cruise director and hotel manager. Participates in activities, escort's tours and other various duties as directed by the cruise director. Highly visible and accessible to
passengers (socialize!) Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed. Reports directly to the Cruise Director or hotel manager.

Requirements:

Experience in tourism, previous travel-related experience such as a land tour director essential and/or minimum 1 year on board starting from an entry-level cruise staff or assistant shore excursion manager position.
Public speaking. Strong personality and social skills required. Knowledge of foreign languages is preferred but not essential.

Salary Range:

$2,000-3,000 per month plus the possibility of a percentage of shore excursion sales revenue.

by shore excursion manager. Accommodate inquiries and advise passengers of tours at the shore
information desk. Printing and distribution of all shore excursion forms. Effective communications
with port officials. Participates in activities, escort tours and other various duties as directed by the
cruise director. Highly visible and accessible to passengers (socialize!) Assist in lifeboat drills as
instructed. Reports directly to the shore excursion manager.

Requirements:

Previous travel-related experience such as a land tour director preferred and/or minimum 1 year on
board starting from an entry-level cruise staff position. Public speaking. Strong personality and social
skills required. Knowledge of foreign languages is preferred but not essential.

Administrative Assistant

Overview:

Administrative assistant to the cruise staff department, most notably the cruise director. Handles
invitations and dining arrangements for the passenger guests at the captain's dinner table. Creates
and designs the daily program (see also program coordinator). Accounting, auditing, and ordering of
department materials. Miscellaneous administrative duties. Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed.
Reports directly to the Cruise Director.

Requirements:

Strong administrative skills required; typing, accounting, etc. Essential computer experience with MS
Word or Word Perfect, Excel, desktop publishing programs, Windows 95 or Windows 3.11
applications. Strong personality and social skills required.

$1,100-1,500 per month.

Lead Cruise Staff Person

Overview:

The lead cruise staff person acts in concert with the cruise director.

This person acts as a liaison with foreign speaking passengers insuring that non-English speaking passengers do not feel left out of any passenger activities. Therefore, he/she must have complete fluency in three to five languages: English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish are the most commonly used languages on board.

Translate daily program, give public address announcements in required languages, and assist at passenger activities and any other duties that are required of a cruise staff member.

Can be called upon to translate anything at anytime. As directed by the cruise director, the lead cruise staff person can be called upon to provide support to the cruise director in any of the social functions such as the "Captain's Welcome Aboard Cocktail Party," introduce the captain to passengers, accompany the Captain at formal affairs, arranges passenger invitations to dine with the Captain at his dinner table, conducts a certain amount of social activities geared towards the female passengers and / or singles.

Other duties might include greeting passengers at embarkation and assist with disembarkation and ensure an adequate inventory of prizes and supplies.

Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed. Reports directly to the Cruise Director.

Requirements:

Hotel, resort or recreation experience preferred of 1-2 years. Verbal, reading and written fluency in
3-5 languages; English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish. Public speaking helpful. Strong

Overview:

Water sports / Dive Instructors conduct daily dive and snorkeling programs, maintain equipment and
dive boats are responsible for the health and safety of passengers. Other responsibilities are
conducting the daily sporting events and tournaments on board such as ping pong, billiards,
shuffleboard, basketball, Olympic games, pool games, etc. Conducts live interview discussions with
passengers and/or sports celebrities on board. Assist in other non-water related activities as directed
by the assistant cruise director. Assist in lifeboat drills as instructed. Reports directly to the cruise
director. Also responsible for the coordination of water sports toy rentals.

Requirements:

Recreation and/or resort experience preferred. Public speaking helpful. Strong personality and social
skills required. Dive instructor certification is required. Instructor-level experience with a dive
operation or resort. NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors), PADI (Professional
Association of Diving Instructors), or SSI (Scuba Schools International) certification required.

Overview:

Coordinate, creates, and facilitate well-rounded health and fitness program for different levels
appropriate to passengers complement. Conducts aerobics, fitness, aqua-aerobics, and special
health-related classes. Update and maintain fitness industry standards for all exercise programs on
board. Maintain inventory of all exercise equipment. Responsible for reporting daily of equipment
problems, maintenance, repair, cleanliness and safety precautions of gym and health club facilities.
Creates, updates, and implements well rounded aerobics program for different levels appropriate to
passengers.

Conducts aerobics, fitness, aqua-aerobics, and special health-related classes. Update and maintain
fitness industry standards for all exercise programs on board. Assist with other duties such as
lifeboat drills and gangway duty. Assist with the water toy rentals. Highly visible and accessible to
passengers (socialize!) Reports directly to the cruise director.

Requirements:

Previous experience or university degree in sports medicine, exercise physiology, nutrition and
physical education required. 1-2 years professional recreation experience preferred. CPR/First Aid

aerobic instructors and day-to-day operations of the health club. License or certification in a fitness

prior to departure from any port; liaison officer for officers, staff and crew; keeps inventory of crew

Overview:

Supervisor of the housekeeping department; manage staff, scheduling, cleanliness of all passenger

Most importantly, passenger baggage handling and distribution to and from cabins at the beginning
