Hearing Impaired need holidays too. |

The owner was exhibiting at several trade shows in the 1980's and noticed a similarity at every show, there were always several deaf people that went around the show and signed with their friends. He suddenly realized that he was the one with the disability, as he could not communicate without writing things down on paper. He decided to do something about that and took several courses in sign language. "The instructors were wonderful, my eyes were opened to the deaf community and I began to realize that there was not as many opportunities for hearing impaired people in the "hearing" world." |

There are lots of associations like Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf, Atlanta Speech School, The Center for Hearing and Speech, Central Institute for the Deaf, there are institutes set up in different languages and even one if you are a deaf Catholic. Deaf people must hang around together, travel together and sign together. What if they want a holiday? Just because you are deaf does not mean you cannot have fun right? If you are deaf or an instructor for the deaf, I would like to invite you to something that is a bit more on the fun side. |
