This web site deals with the pre paid holiday packages portion of Kastaway Island.
There is another web site being built for the weekly cruise charters for each vessel we purchase.
We have allocated a percentage of our yacht each year for pre paid holiday packages. The balance will be sold at the regular cruise charter rate of between $1,600 and $1,900.00 per person per week in US dollars, depending on the season.
Taking discounts, bonuses and other unforeseen into account, adding revenue from diving gear rentals, shore excursions, liquor sales, the Islands store, camers rentals and sales, plus revenue from dive charters, water toy rentals and fishing charters we expect to gross enough to cover our fuel, food & wages for the crew with some left over.
Every thirty months the ship will be hauled for inspections and repairs. We have booked 2 weeks every year for complete shutdown for misc. repairs, upkeep and other concerns as they may arise. All pre paid holiday packages have an annual upkeep fee and this one is no different. This fee allows us to keep the vessel in class every year and offer you the maximum in safety and comfort that we can possibly offer.
The balance of the income will go to keep a well-stocked boat, offer a monthly newsletter, postage, broadband internet on board, etc. There will be the costs associated with entertainment, shore excursion fees, port fees, the purchase of supplies for the store (post cards, postage stamps, cameras, first aid supplies, etc.) This is all covered from the revenue as indicated above.
What if we do not get enough weekly charters you ask? There are over 300 cruise ships traveling the oceans and the big ones are booked for months in advance. These large cruise ships carry between 2000 and 3000 passengers EVERY week. We are booking a maximum of 40 guests per week instead of 2000 per week on the larger cruise ships. I think we will get them.
Kastaway Island is for the young at heart whether youre a honeymooner beginning your life together, couples rekindling that romance, an adventurer or an avid diver in search of that next virgin dive site, we live for what today has to offer.
